Support Group: When Cancer and Abortion Meet

Support Group: When Cancer and Abortion Meet

We know that abortion is a part of many of your cancer stories. With the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, the renewed attention to abortion may be bringing up feelings of anxiety, stress, shame, or even guilt. Decisions surrounding cancer treatment are hard enough without a 24 hour news cycle.

Bright Spot Network is proud to provide a space for those of you for whom your cancer story intersects with your abortion story.  Please join us for a peer support group, talking about cancer, abortion, (in)fertility, and all of the emotions that come up in the places in between.

After you sign-up you’ll be sent a welcome email and the link.

Who: We welcome all cancer survivors for whom abortion is a part of their cancer story.  We want to warmly welcome all members of the cancer community for whom this is true, noting that Bright Spot Network serves primarily families with young children.

Date: Wednesday Jul 20, 2022

Time: 11-12:30 PST/2-3:30 EST

Sessions will be led by Rachel Jenkins-Stevens, LCSW.

 Like all our support groups:

  • We make space for all stories.

  • We refrain from talking specifics about religion or politics.

  • We share our thoughts and hope others will do the same.

The purpose of our groups is to support healing, not to judge choices or to debate political or personal issues.
