Virtual Meet-Up for Parents Post-Treatment

2nd Thursday @ 4:30 pm PT/5:30 pm MT/6:30 pm CT/7:30 pm ET

Parents juggle a LOT when they go through cancer treatment, so when it ends there is often relief and celebration. But there are often lingering concerns–physical, emotional, mental and spiritual–that hang on long after treatment ends. In fact, many parents feel like this is the first time they are actually able to process everything they just went through, now that they aren’t operating in survival mode. It may feel like your partner, kids, family and friends have moved on in life while you are still managing long-lasting side effects from cancer treatment, anxiety around recurrence, and the uncertainty of what life looks like on the other side of treatment.

Come talk to other parents who get it. This meet-up is a space to talk about the fears, challenges, and successful coping strategies associated with parenting through survivorship.

Group meetings are 60 min on Zoom.

The following monthly themes have been identified for Jan-June 2025:

  • January: Resolution Hype–The Power and Pitfalls of Setting Goals After Cancer

  • February: Love & Lust–Navigating Sex, Intimacy and Romantic Relationships in your Post-Cancer Body

  • March: Working It: Navigating your Professional Identity

  • April: Springing Back into Wellness: Nutrition, Exercise and Stress Reduction

  • May: Managing the Monkey on your Back: Fear of Recurrence and Dealing with Long-Term Side-Effects

  • June: Evolving Relationships with Family, Friends and Other People You (kind of) Care About

Who is this group for? Any parent who has completed the majority of their cancer treatment or who has been finished with treatment for 6 months or longer. This space is for parents who are NED or have controlled chronic cancers. If you have advanced or metastatic cancer, please check-out our Virtual Support Group for Parents with Stage 4 Cancer.

**We are excited to partner on this group with Cancer Support Community-Los Angeles.
