Coloring & Coping: An Art Workshop for Parents
Date: Saturday, May 24
Time: 9 am PT|10 am MT|11am CT|12 pm ET
Take a break from the daily grind of parenting with cancer to reflect, unwind and create. This 90 minute therapeutic art workshop is a special opportunity to play with new supplies and techniques to create something as unique as you are.
Using unexpected materials and vibrant colors, participants will explore a playful and expressive process that blends spontaneity with reflection. Through layering, texture, and a touch of gold, each person will create a piece that is uniquely their own. This therapeutic art workshop is rooted in the experience of parenting with cancer but you are encouraged to explore whatever is on your mind.
In addition to this live art workshop, participants will receive a handout that includes art activities, carefully curated by an art therapist. Each activity is aimed at helping your children to express their feelings and process their questions about cancer. No special art supplies are necessary–you can use whatever you have at home to engage in creative, thoughtful exploration with your children.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about expression, connection, and letting color tell your story.
